Most boom lifts are currently fitted with directional R4 traction tires. As boom lifts have a 360º swing, there is no specific forward & reverse direction of motion. In fact, machines have decals showing that they can be used in either direction. Directional tires when frequently driven in reverse will exhibit faster wear and are prone to vibration.
Trident has developed a range of Low Profile Pneumatic Boom Lift Tires with a High Traction, Non-Directional Traction Tread Pattern for which we have been granted a Patent #D813793 by the USPTO. The symmetric lugs ensure uniform performance in all directions of motion with reduced judder and exhibit even wear irrespective of the direction of motion.
The unique pattern offers superior traction and mobility, especially on uneven or soft ground and the tough carcass resists damage. The air-filled construction helps cushion the ride, reducing the risk of equipment damage and providing a stable platform for elevated work.
These non-directional tires also eliminate the need for left & right SKU reducing inventory for OEM’s and end users alike.
